Nightwing is the second heroic identity of Dick Grayson, the first Robin. As a child, Dick was a circus trapeze artist alongside his parents the "Flying Graysons," but after seeing them die in an accident wrought by criminals, was adopted by Bruce Wayne who identified himself with the tragedy of the boy. Trained by Wayne, who revealed himself as Batman to the young man, Dick began his fight against crime as Robin, the prodigy boy, and Batman's partner.
As an adult, as the leader of the New Titans group, to prove his independence and individuality, Dick leaves Robin's identity to take on the role of Nightwing, acting as an independent hero of Batman. In the game Arkham Knight, Nightwing acts alongside Tim Drake, the third Robin, and Catwoman, where they help the Batman, knocking out enemies together.
